What is Assistive Technology?
Assistive technology is an umbrella term that includes assistive, adaptive, and rehabilitative devices for people with disabilities and also includes the process used in selecting, locating, and using them. Assistive technology promotes greater independence by enabling people to perform tasks that they were formerly unable to accomplish, or had great difficulty accomplishing, by providing enhancements to, or changing methods of interacting with, the technology needed to accomplish such tasks.

Take a survey on digital access for extra grade points!
The Survey Results Are In!
The results of our digital access survey showed that 50% of you who took the survey have no internet service at home. The survey also showed that 95% of you who took the survey do not have access to a printer. One solution to this problem is our schools library that opens one hour before school starts and has extended hours after school. However, if for some reason you need an alternative place to use the internet and have access to a printer, our community center that is just blocks from Blanche Ely High School provides free access to the internet and access to printers.
How to Save Your Work on Google Drive
Our digital access survey also revealed another issue that some of you are having, and that is how to save your work when you are using a public computer. If you do not have a flash drive, you can save your work to the Cloud on Google Drive. The YouTube video here will walk you through step-by-step on how to save your work to your Google Drive account. It is free and very convenient. It will enable you to retrieve your work from any computer or from your mobile device. It is as easy as checking email!
